< l 14 The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, April 18,1984 Section Two News of Ha y don Held Over from Previous Week HAYDONNEWS (Intended for last week) Mr. and Mrs. John Adams and family visited with Morris and Debby Gould of Oshawa on Friday evening. Then on Saturday they called on John's sister, Mrs. Joyce Selleck and family at Oshawa. On Sunday John and Diane and family drove to View Lake to spend some time with Bill and Arlie Durant and later the same day called on Diane's parents Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lott, Enniskillen. Mrs. Debby Steves, Oshawa and Mrs. R. Lott, Enniskillen, sister and mother, visited with Diane Adams on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Lars Christensen Christensen were Saturday dinner guests with the kids, Mr. and Mrs. David Atkinson in Toronto. Mr. and Mrs. Weir Swain, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Blackburn Blackburn and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ashton attended the Bowmanville Bowmanville Men's Canadian Club that was held at Maple Grove on Wednesday evening and all enjoyed a lovely meal and entertainment. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ashton accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ormiston, Oshawa to Kingsview Turkey Supper at Oshawa Saturday evening and spent the remainder of the evening in a euchre game at Mr. and Mrs. Ormiston's celebrating celebrating upcoming birthdays. Sunday found Ross, Jean and Grant Ashton visiting with Michael and Sheryl Strenge and family at Scarborough. Congratulations to Jean Ashton who was celebrating her 29th birthday on Monday. Many more are wished for her - to at least her 39th. Saturday was a busy day for Mike Laverty as he played in a tournament against the Non- Contact, Mississauga in the morning to win but, and there always seems to be a but, just to lose to the Army in the afternoon. The evening was spent with the little wife cele- , brating the twelfth anniversary anniversary at the San Marino where neighbours Colin and Debby were the musicians with their band. So congratulations go to Mike and Sylvia. On Sunday they enjoyed doing up the Bowmanville Flea Market and a jaunt around the beach. I understand a sweet sixteenth birthday is coming up on April 16th for one of our young ladies so although a wee bit early, Happy Birthday Pam. Little Miss Sarah Lloyd spent Friday night with Kevin Mayer and his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Schry- burt, Blackstock and family, were Saturday Barb-B-Q guests with sister Jan and Ron Mayer and Kevin. And on Sunday Mr. Pete Dillon and Meloney of Oshawa were evening callers with the Mayers. Mrs. Jean Slemon accompanied accompanied Mrs. Ruby Trewin to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Johnson last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs,, Roy Paterson called on Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hare and Elizabeth of Port Hope on Tuesday. Congratulations on her twelfth birthday to Miss Charlene Potts last Sunday. She had Gramma and Grampa Potts and Dorie Christensen in for cake and coffee. Mrs. Marion Hodge and Tom of Blackstock were Sunday afternoon callers with Mr. and Mrs. Brent Cochrane and girls. Mrs. Norma Kennedy and daughter Brandee visited with Ms. Linda McCormick and Mr. Bill Bruce at Newcastle on Saturday and called on Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cornish, also at Newcastle and on their way home dropped in on Miss Cathy Newell at Bowmanville for a short visit. Young Mr. Nick Kennedy was a dinner, guest with Ron and Jan and Kevin Mayer on Saturday, Then on Sunday Nick was a supper guest of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis, Enfield, when he and friend David enjoyed their pizza. Mr. and ' Mrs. Charles Campbell, Orono were Sunday dinner guests with her son Cecil and Norma Kennedy. Mrs. Mary Spry and Ashley of Toronto were weekend visitors with her parents Jack and Gladys Potts. Mr. and Mrs. J, Potts were Sunday evening callers at Mr, and Mrs. Tom Potts, Little Adam and baby Andrew Millson were at a birthday party for little Miss Alyssa Norrish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Steve Norrish, Oshawa on Saturday, Mr. and Mrs, Tom Millson and Mark of Newtonville and Mr, and Mrs. Dale Millson and Nicole of Bowmanville were Sunday callers with Steve and Cindy Millson. Other visitors with Mr. and Mrs, Steve Millson and boys were Cindy's sister, Mrs, Donna Mairs and girls, Jenny and Mundy, Bowmanville, on Sunday, APRIL SHOWER OF !
