Burger King Joins Esso at Newcastle Outlet Esso Petroleum Canada will be converting its Voyageur Restaurant on Highway 401 near Newcastle, Ontario to a Burger King Canada outlet in early June. Esso Petroleum will operate the restaurant under a franchise franchise agreement with the well- known North American hamburger hamburger chain. Douglas E. Speers, Ontario Marketing Manager for Esso Petroleum said the changeover to Burger King is in response to the changing needs of the highway motorist. "The driving public is looking for fast food service and well known quality when they stop for gasoline. Esso Petroleum Canada expects additional employees will likely be hired to run the new restaurant. The Esso station is located about 49 miles east of Toronto. The event included most students from the Vincent Massey School and a number of parent volunteers who helped inspect the bikes for safety and check the students for their driving skills.
