Burnham Provincial Parks in the Lindsay district. The parks are a hubbub of activity as the momentum of preparation builds in anticipation of opening day, May 11, 1984. Park staff are eager to offer yet another season of memorable vacations to new and returning visitors. There has been a small increase in the overnight camping fee this year, but the day-use fee has remained the same as last year. The daily fee for a campsite with electricity is $8.50 and $7.00 for a campsite without electricity. For complete camping and day-use information on Ontario's provincial parks, the "Reservations, Rates and Dates" booklet is now available at all Ministry of Natural Resources district offices and provincial parks. To ensure the peaceful experience that most campers expect in provincial parks, an alcohol ban will be enforced at Emily, Balsam Lake, Darlington and Serpent Mounds Provincial Parks from May 11 to May 21, 1984 inclusive. During this time the possession of alcohol anywhere in the parks is prohibited. This regulation will enable park staff to reduce and prevent rowdyism and vandalism which has occurred in past seasons. This summer, Lindsay district provincial parks feature a potpourri of daytime and evening programs, ranging from Smokey the Bear visits to "Spirit" walks. Because 1984 is Ontario's bicentennial, the parks will also be highlighting special "period" events. The parks' visitor services programmes are many and diversified. Visitors are urged to discover the many features and recreational opportunities that make Lindsay district's provincial parks unique and popular.
