Moved by Gladys Potts and seconded by Ruby Trewin to ask Jim Tabb to look after caring for the Centre's lawn, cutting grass. Eileen Blackburn Blackburn to pass the word to Jim. Our Secretary is asked to get licence to sell tickets on our quilt but this year to make a few changes. How to keep House without going Daffy. Then we rounded out the evening by having a Chinese Auction - played with pennies, after which Group I served lunch. Mr. Colin Nolt, Oshawa was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kennedy on Tuesday. Hover, Smiths Falls, and brothers Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hover of Ottawa, and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hover of Almonte, were visitors with Doug and Norma Blackburn and Wendy. Weekend company of the D. Blackburn's were Ms. Linda Bourdeau and Brian of Quebec. On Friday evening, Mr. and Mrs. John Adams dined at Dine's restaurant in Oshawa - a birthday treat for John on his birthday. Congratulations John. Miss Carol Lott, Toronto, visited with her sister and family - Diane and John Adams on the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. J. Adams and family were Saturday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Adams at Blackstock. On Sunday the Adams' called on Bob and Mona White at Blackstock. John and Diane Adams and family were expecting company company on Monday evening to enjoy fireworks. The event takes place Saturday, September 8. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Lloyd and girls Sarah and Nickola enjoyed a week's vacation in New Jersey visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Jardine and Mason. This weekend they had former Montreal neighbours, Mr. and Mrs. Syd Willett, Samantha and Kerry, now of St. Thomas, Ontario, as guests. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Master- man of St. Catharines visited with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Rusaw. Mr. and Mrs. Art Trewin visited with Will and Lucy Trewin, Oshawa on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. John (Norma) Sterrett, Brampton were Tuesday guests of Art and June Trewin and accompanied accompanied them to Mr. Albert Piper's funeral at the Morris Chapel. On Saturday, the Trewins took in a happier event by attending Walt Loveridge's birthday at his home north of Tyrone. Congratulations Walter, but watch out - now that you're retired those birthdays come faster and faster. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Paterson, Michael Jr. and Tara from 'Oshawa were Sunday supper guests with his Dad and Mom - Roy and Ann Paterson. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Pierson, Bailieboro stopped into see her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Paterson, while enjoying an outing on their motorcycle. Mr. Doug Paterson and Miss Matalina Mata of Oshawa enjoyed a motor trip to Niagara Falls. Mr. and Mrs. Lars Christensen Christensen visited with her sister and husband Mr. and Mrs. Alec Reznik, Oshawa on Sunday and had a visit with their families too. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Laverty and family enjoyed their jaunt around the Metro Zoo on Sunday. A beautiful day for their walk and see. Mr. Steven Millson and companions, Mr. Wayne Piggott, Enniskillen, Mr. Blair Vanyke and a fellow worker went fishing at Algonquin Algonquin Park over the long weekend. Miss Cora Degeer was pleased to have Mrs. Irene Poudrier of Merrickville and Mr. and Mrs. Allan Carlton of Whitby call on her recently. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Slemon entertained several of Jean's cousins on Wednesday for dinner. There were Earl and Ruby Trewin of Enniskillen, Mrs. Myrtle Reid, Orono, Mrs. Norma Hamilton of Millbrook, Mrs. Margaret Kerr, Mrs. Evelyn Smith and Mrs. Jean Johnson, all of Toronto. These cousins are on Jean and Ruby's mother's side of the family. We should all do this - what a shame to lose contact with family. Miss Marlene Parsons was a weekend guest with Kay and Dave Buttery. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Theriault of Courtice called on the Buttery's on Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Philips, Newcastle visited with her mother and Dave (Buttery) on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Kay Buttery attended a birthday party held for Miss Janet Anderson at Bowmanville Bowmanville on Monday.
