uMc'DonaM - âEutmeg Trinity United Church, Bowmanville formed a lovely setting on Saturday, April 21st, 1984 at 7 p.m., for the marriage of Sandra Jane Lunney and Robert John McDonald. The Reverend John Peters officiated at the double ring ceremony and the organist , was ' Mr. Ross Metcalf. The bride's parents are Mr. Harvey Lunney, Oshawa, and Mrs. Beverly Oudshoorn, Orangeville. The groom's parents are Mrs. Margaret McDonald and the late Ernest McDonald, Bowmanville. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was radiant in a formal gown of white silk taffeta with a strapless fitted bodice and a French lace jacket, which buttoned down the back with a stand up collar. A matching cap of silk and a row of seeded pearls accompanied her veil. She carried a crescent of silk white orchids, yellow orchids and mauve roses with baby's breath. The twin sister of the bride, Mrs. Don Farrow was the matron of honor and the bridesmaid was Miss Eileen Corby. Bowmanville. Maple Grove W.I. The monthly meeting of the Mapie Grove Women's Institute Institute was held on Monday, May 14 at 8:00 p.m. in Maple Grove C. E. Hall. Mrs. R. Metcalf, 1st Vice President called the meeting to order with a reading reading and led in the singing of the Ode and saying the Lord's Prayer. Mrs. If. Prescott introduced Brent and Sheri McCall, two talented Maple Grove pianists who favoured us with several selections. The minutes of the last meeting meeting were read and approved and a treasurer's report was given by Mrs. S. Found. Motions were passed to purchase purchase six Erland Lee candy dishes and pay any outstanding outstanding bills. Our delegates to the District Annual will be Mrs. W. Brown, Mrs. H. Cryder- man and Mrs. A. Vander- gaast. We are planning our summer summer outing for Tuesday, August 14 to visit Cullen Barns in Toronto. Our Bicentennial project will be to attempt to publish a cookbook of old favourites and have a meeting next fall to double as a membership drive and a promotional occasion for the cookbook. Ladies are to bring their recipes to the next meeting. Other reports included a Good Neighbours report by Mrs. C. Swallow, a meeting report by Mrs. A. Hall, and a report from the Officers Conference Conference by Mrs. S. Found. Mrs. J. Rekker gave a reading "A Sad Recipe" and introduced the skit "Food For Thought" which depicted some of the misconceptions that some city people have about the source of their food. Actresses were Mrs. E. Wihlidal, Mrs. S. Morton and Mrs. H. Prescott. The program program concluded with a W.I. report on Fees and the Adelaide Adelaide Hoodless Home by Mrs. Morton. Reverend Don Stiles united in marriage Darla Reid and Allan Tilling. Parents of the bride are Art and Marie Reid of 29 Waverley Road, Bowmanville, and the groom's parents are Art and Shirley Tilling of R. R. No. 1, Blackstock. • Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by the maid of honour, Janice Ovenden and the bridesmaids Penny Vanhecke of Picton, Carol Reid of Tyrone, Debbie Reid of Oshawa, and Wendy Tache of Whitby. The flower girls were Christal and Lisa Reid of Bowmanville.
