The minutes of June 1983 meeting were read and business of our July 2nd Salad Tea was dealt with... Meta Swain asked and recorded the baking and dona tions from each one for the tea. The price of the Tea this year is to be $5.50 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 years and under, with serving to start at 4 p.m. Blanche Jones to look after advertising for two weeks prior to the Tea in Coming Events in The Canadian Statesman and the Independent. A meeting of the members of the Barbeque was held also, alter church, to be held on the church grounds on Sunday, July 1st and tickiis arc still available -- for adults $6.00 and children children under 12 at$4.00, from 4 till 7 o'clock. The U.C.W. meeting was held June 13th at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Joan Speakman. President Merle Avery welcomed welcomed everyone and read a poem "If you were being busy." Minutes were read and approved. Correspondence and announcements were dealt with. Donations were given to several worthy organizations. The meeting was turned over to the group in charge. Annie Wright led in singing. "Climbing Jacob's Ladder." Lois Nimigon read the poem "Climb till your dream comes true." We all thoroughly enjoyed the music of two very talented young people, Janet and Glen Cain from Hampton. They both played Piano Accordians. Some of the selections were "Waltz Dianne", "Progressive "Progressive March Jr.", "Remembrance", "Remembrance", "Cat and the Mouse", "Softly and Tenderly", Tenderly", "Nearer My God to Thee", "Somewhere" and a duet "Cuckoo." Annie thanked them and presented them with a token of appreciation. Devotion Devotion was given by Doreen Lamb and Margaret Stainton. Doreen read the poem "In God's Garden." Devotion was from Mark 4 - verse 1 - 9 using the Parable of the sower. The •offering was taken and dedi- 1 cated with prayer by Doreen. Lois then introduced her daughter Sandra Corrigan, a graduate nurse of Durham College in 1974, nursed at Children's Hospital, Toronto, Princess Margaret, continued her studies at university to get a teaching degree. Her talk of her work and the different patients from Children's to Princess Margaret, all of them a loving and learning experience. She continued her career teaching nursing at Mohawk College, Sarnia, then her work as a health nurse, now learning to be a mother with a little boy, living and still working at Oakville. Truly an example of "climbing "climbing till your dream comes true." Barbara thanked our speaker and gave her a token of appreciation. We sang "Kum Ba Yah". Merle closed with our theme. A delicious lunch was served by the committee, 32 ladies and four guests. Mr. and Mrs. John Richardson Richardson and Bob, Lotus, Brian Hall, Clinton, Judy Virtue, Port Perry; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey McGill, Mr. and Mrs. John Borrowdale were Sunday guests with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Virtue. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Trewin attended the 50th wedding anniversary reception for Mr. and Mrs. John Burrows at Hampton on Saturday afternoon. afternoon. Enniskillen Garage Ladies Lob Ball won the D. Championship Championship which was held in Bowmanville. Denise Gerritts won most valuable player and they really played well. Mr. and Mrs. George Lead- beater and family, Oshawa were Father's Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Art Leadbeater. Mrs. Fred Cameron, Zion, Mrs. Vivian, Oshawa, Ever- ette Sanderson, Orillia were recent visitors of Mr. Adam Sharp. Mr. Edgar Wright had his family call on him on Father's Day. Mrs. Jim Muller was a luncheon guest. Mr. and Mrs. Len Stainton attended the Graduation Ceremony Ceremony of granddaughter Miss Lori Cryderman from Sir Sandford Fleming College held at Peterborough Memorial Memorial Centre.
