Over 80 members of the Guard will perform a number of authentic military exercises exercises dating back to the British Army of 1867. These include a foot and arms drill and battle tactics; the precision precision drill which displays the orders and movements of the drill and battle tactics; the music of the fife and drum band and color party. The "Parade of Bands" features features a series of marching bands, which will assemble on Lindsay St. S. and proceed up Kent St. to Victoria Park, continuously from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 28th. Stuart and Sharon Strong of Regina spent two weeks with Stuart's parents, Gordon Gordon and Winnie Strong and also visited with other relatives relatives in area while here. This was a surprise visit as Stuart and Sharon arrived quite unexpectedly. While here, they were visited twice, by their eldest daughter, Lynda, who is employed employed in Toronto. Last Thursday Frances Van Wieringen, Grace Fal- lis and Ruth Richardson spent an enjoyable day at the Van Wieringen cottage in Fenelon Falls. A barbecue was held recently recently at the home of Murray Murray and Helen Logan for Paul Smith of Bethany and his fiance. Paul, youngest son of Kay and Gordon Smith, and grandson of Nellie Nellie and Joe McCullough, is to be married next Saturday in Whitby. George and Bessie Van- Dam were in Welland for the weekend and were guests at the Saturday wedding wedding of a friend. The local firemen held a lobb ball tournament over the weekend with proceeds going towards equipment for the Pontypool Fire Hall. In the championship game on Sunday afternoon, it was the Pontypool Evergreens versus the Jade Gardens Blues with the latter winning winning by a 22 - 3 score. Each team received a trophy, cash, and each member of the Blues took home a cooler bag while each of the Evergreens received a glass. The prize money was $250 and $150. At Peggy Joe's Snack Bar, fresh baked goods may now be purchased by the public. Last Friday, Everett A. Mitchell passed away in Moosomin, Saskatchewan. The late Mr. Mitchell was residing with his son, Oswald, Oswald, and had previously lived at Ballyduff for many of his eighty-nine years. His widow, Martha, is in the Strathaven Nursing Home, Bowmanville. They have a family of four - Oswald, Porter, Porter, Jeanne and Doris.
