Although some of the girls were unable to attend attend those present were: Arlene Malcolm, Joanne Malcolm, Joyce Johns, Regenia Walker, Carol Mairs and Kay Notman. Punch was served and games were features- later lovely refreshments were partaken partaken of by all. À nice, summer break! Omission Sorry to have omitted the name of a good friend- Betty Cawker, Pleasant Point, in last week's news re- the Cawker Reunion. My humble apology! Caesarea Card Night First prize winners- A1 Cormack- 87. Second prize winner- Irene Train- 85. Low- Ed White- 51. A smaller attendance attendance due to humid weather and holiday time. Will be back to normal normal soon. If inclined to enjoy a game- do attend Wed. 8 p.m. at the Caesarea Centre for fun and relaxation. Community Newsworthy Items The Emerson-Creed picnic was held on Saturday Saturday afternoon, July 28, at the Emerson Beach- the occasion being the annual annual picnic with 22 members on hand to enjoy enjoy this family get- together. While all were assembled- a Red Maple tree \was planted in memory of Wilton Creed, who had a very warm feeling for the Emerson Farm. Wilton, a resident of Barrie most of his life- had spent his younger days in Cartwright. He passed away May 3rd, 1964. A fitting tribute! Bill and Mildred Fortune, Fortune, Blackstock, entertained entertained his brother Alec and wife Rose Fortune of Malton, for a couple of days this past week. Family members- Patricia, Kenny, Suzanne and Lori of Eganville were Saturday and Sunday guests with Bill and Mildred- heading for a good holiday holiday on Monday. Chas. and Nell Cawker, Scarborough, were Wednesday luncheon luncheon guests at the Sam Cawker farm, Scugog Point Road. Later they all went to Fenelon Falls to visit brother Gord Cawker- who is recovering recovering from eye surgery and ' spending some time with son John and Pat Cawker. After a visit they called on Albert and Vivian Cawker at their condominium at Bob- caygeon - later dining in Lindsay before returning home to the farm. Very pleased to hear that Mrs. Don (Grace) Proutt of Nestleton is improving improving nicely, after some weeks in Port Perry Community Hospital. Best wishes from "this area for "great" health soon. 29 members attended the annual Mairs family picnic, held on Sunday August 5 "hosted" by Norm and Bernice Mairs at their attractive home, near Nestleton. Relatives came to enjoy the gathering from Lindsay, Lindsay, Glenarm, London, Collingwood, Bowman- ville, Raglan and ■ Nestleton, All Norm's family were present witht he exception of his brother Gordon of Edmonton, Edmonton, Alberta. A buffet buffet style luncheon was enjoyed by all- followed by games, sociability, etc. A fine get-together! On Friday evening, Norm and Bernice attended attended the 6th birthday party for grandson Jeremy Jay Slute- given by his parents, John and Diane at their home in Raglan. Quite a few of the neighbours were present present and all delighted in the Weiner Roast. A "happy birthday" to Jeremy Jay! On Sunday, Lawrence and Gwen Malcolm of Nestleton, held a family gathering in honour of their daughter Gail's birthday birthday with 18 family members present. Our "warmest wishes" to Gail for many more birthdays birthdays - from all her friends within the area. At the Nestleton Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning, an average congregation after the summer recess. Rev. James Gilchrist of Bowmanville, took as his text John 4 and preached on the subject "The Gospel in Picture" the first subject being Nicodemus, an educated man who had his way in life - second being the woman at the well - living living water - third picture - a nobleman's ailing child entreating Christ to come down lest my child die. Christ answered- my son liveth! Service next Sunday at 10 a.m. (A personal thank you from the Cooke family). The Cooke family of Blackstock wish to thank all their friends within the community- mainly from Caesarea- for their support at the giant yard sale held for Larry Cooke on the Regatta weekend. It was a great success ! Carol Cooke said: "Words cannot express how we feel for all the help and support given to us in our time of need. Special thanks again to Mr. Reg Renouf and the Sanderson family of Caesarea for organizing this wonderful sale on our behalf. It was just terrific ! " Larry is on his fourth week of treatment and will keep us posted. Best of luck to Larry! A Campbell reunion I was "hosted" on Sunday, August 5, at the lovely old home of Grant and Helen Campbell of Nestleton with between 25-30 family members present for the occasion. Helen had a barbecue- with all festivities held outside and it was much enjoyed! The "highlight" for the day- es peciaUy for the youngsters- Grant treated them all to a hayride. Relatives came for the party from Nova Scotia, Brantford, Midland, Peterborough, Bowmanville, Markham, Cambridge, Oshawa, Ajax and Nestleton.
