KRAMP FURNITURE 37 King St. E. 623-7071 Bowmanville flit BOWMANVILLE Vif SUl IN MM Monday, Harvey recounted his family history without hesitation. A wonderful feat for a man of 90 years! In 1894 Harvey was born in Great Falls, Montana, to Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bonathon (nee Carrie Arabel Smith Dickly). His first birthday was spent in the Rocky Mountains in a covered wagon. While the men went hunting and fishing the women and children stayed in the wagons. Those were cowboy cowboy and Indian days when his father Sam carried a six- shooter. Back in Great Falls, a diphtheria epidemic caused his mother concern and the family moved to a home where " her neighbour lived across the Missouri River. Baby Harve was placed in a biscuit box in a boat and mother rowed across to visit the neighbour. When Harve's second birthday arrived he was in Newtonville with his mother at Dickey's. Depression Depression in the U.S.A. caused the family to return to Canada. In 1900 the Sam Bonathon's bought the house and store on King St. E. in Newcastle. Harvey went to Toronto Business College in 1912 and pleased his father by returning returning to work in the Newcastle store, and stayed until 1920. He bought out Bill Jamieson in 1929 and retired in 1958. Much more interesting history was told by Harvey. We congratulate congratulate him on his 90th birthday and wish him, his wife and family all the best! Anglican News The Rev. and Mrs. Allan E.
