Orange Lodge Interested in Tyrone Hall The Loyal Orange Lodge has advised town council that it is still interested in purchasing the old community community hall building in Tyrone. Council was told that the structure would remain in operation as a community hall, but it would be owned and operated by the L.O.A. of Tyrone. The correspondence from the association has been referred referred to the town's chief administrator for consideration consideration in connection with a report on the status of municipally-owned buildings buildings within the town. Province Mails Property Tax Grant Forms The Ontario Ministry of Revenue is set to go with the mailing of 1984 property tax grant applications to some 612,000 senior citizen's households households throughout the province. Applications will be mailed Friday, August 31st to seniors who have- in the past been eligible for the grant. An interim instalment, equal to one-half of the 1983 property tax grant entitlement, entitlement, was mailed to these eligible seniors last May. Once completed applications have been received and processed by Revenue, the Ministry will begin mailing the final instalment instalment cheques on October 26th. The maximum annual property property tax grant is $500 per household. . Anyone who turned 65 ■ before July will receive a property property tax grant application this month. People who turn 65 in the last half of the year will be mailed applications by January of 1985. These first year recipients will receive their property tax grant in one lump sumi and in subsequent years will receive the grant in two instalments, one in the spring and one in the fall. "In all, we are sending out over 600,000 property tax grant applications this fall," says Bud Gregory, Ontario's Revenue Minister, "to help offset the property and school taxes paid by our seniors. Again this year, as in the past, our emphasis is on accuracy. We want seniors to take their time and fill their applications out carefully." The deadline for filing a 1984 property tax grant application is December 31st, 1985.
