Meeting September 28 ELIZABETHVILLE NEWS Seniors met at Campbell- croft as usual on Thursday. Mrs. Lewko had her daughter Mrs. Long and Nick from Rochester with' her for a couple of days this past week. Miss Mary Alice White, while home on a holiday from The Pas, Man. obtained a job at Mount Sinai library, Toronto, and she went back and has since moved here and will be living in Toronto. She was in the library at The Pas for four years. Mr. and Mrs. R. Fowler held a party Saturday night for his sister, Mrs. Sevenhuysen, who is home on holiday. ' Church services were held as usual but not too many out. The choir sang. Rev. G. Rutherford spoke on "Habak- kuk's Questions." As I wasn't able to attend I only have the bulletin to copy. The general meeting of the U.C.W. will be held Sept. 28 at 8:00 at Garden Hill. Elizabethville Sunday School will be Sept. 16th. Coffee was served as usual. A group of young men from here won the tug-a-war at Orono Fair on Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Moore and girls, Stayner were with Mrs. Dekoker on Friday evening evening and came to Thickson's on Saturday and stayed until Sunday. While here they, along with Mr. and Mrs. Westheuser and girls and Thicksons attended a barbecue barbecue at Mr. and Mrs. E. Fowler's for Nancy, Mrs. Stevenhuysen and Cheyenna, Thompson, Man. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Ingram, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Russell, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Clarence Yarrow, Belleville, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fowler and girls, Garden Hill, Mr. and Mrs. B. Henry got an excellent report on his hip operation. On Thursday afternoon the U.C.W. Unit II met at Mrs. Wheeler's home. Not too many out, it is a busy time. The president, Mrs. K. Trew presided. presided. Mrs. Peacock and Mrs. Trew told us about the weekend weekend at Quin Mo Lac. They were able to attend one of the days. The minutes were read by Mrs. Quantrill and approved. approved. Some of the things coming up are: Cobourg Presbyterial Rally Oct. 25 at Grafton. There will be a workshop at Port Hope Oct. 19 - 20 on Korea and development. Lunch was served by Mrs. Morris and Mrs. Wheeler. Sorry to hear that Kevin Hodgens was involved in an accident and their car was damaged. Congratulations are extended extended to Miss Lisa Gibbs who lives east of here on winning the Beauty Contest held at Roseneath Fair last week. This friendly lady, with her beautiful voice, is one of Holland's most beloved soloists. Her name appears on some 85 different recordings, some solo, some with choir, orchestra or organ. She regularly appears with major choirs and orchestras and is often featured on radio and television. Travelling the world, she has appeared in most European countries as well as the U.S.A, (she recently sang for President Reagan), Israel, Indonesia, etc., etc. Her coming to Canada will be a major event in Christian Music for all to enjoy.
