The announcement and presentation of the award to Mr. McKnight was made at the luncheon following the 51st Annual Meeting of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, held in Toronto on Saturday, at the Royal York Hotel. Mr. McKnight, long associated with minor hockey in Acton becomes the thirty-seventh winner of the award. The winners included, front row 1-r, John Weir , Roger mm Anderson, Tony Lippers, Ron Liddrie, Tom Finora; back row, Jerry Lalonde, Greg Bezer, Clive Edwards, Steve Kinnear, Warren Pollard and Jim McMaster. Thursday Night Hockey League September 27, Thursday Night League Team 3 edged Bowmanville Golf by 5 to 4 in a game which saw six minor penalties called. The referees are enforcing a new rule which prohibits checking from behind, in an attempt to cut down on injuries to amateur hockey players. Scoring for Team 3 were P. Broome with two, S. Cary, D. Jones and N. Jones. Assists went to D. Farrow and Mike, Adams with two, D. Brown and D. Ross. Golf's R. Cryderman had two markers, W. Preston and M. Legree one each.
