Mrs. Rowena Tizzard, Port Hope, Mrs. Vi Gilmer of Port Hope, Mrs. Lena Clysdale, Mrs. Irene Burley of Bowman- ville and Mr. Ken Gilmer of Kitchener University had dinner on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Phil Gilmer. Jaycees Hold Family Car Rally ,P 1 PCI r Winners of 1st place in the Bowmanville Jaycees' Car Rally Sept. 30th were awarded a trophy in a special ceremony. The six teams participating enjoyed a chili dinner following the event. St. Paul's Arts Council Plans Another Concert Series in'85 The St. Paul's Arts Council Council has received such a good response from it's 150th anniversary anniversary concert series that it plans to hold a similar similar program in 1985. The Council has arranged three programs which will bring professional Canadian Canadian talent to Bowmanville during the upcoming year. In the lineup are: The Na tional Tap Dance Company of Canada; Haygood Hardy and Company; and a company company of entertainers presenting presenting an exciting blend of drama and classical music. Tickets will be available for the 1985 series by mid- November and all of this year's subscribers will receive receive detailed information on next year's series. The final program of 1984 ended last Wednesday, October October 3, when Contemporary Contemporary Dancers Canada performed performed for a full house at the Bowmanville High School. The current year's program program was introduced as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations at the St. Paul's United Church. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Staple- ton and family were the greeters for the church services services on Sunday. The altar was adorned with baskets arranged with fruits and vegetables vegetables and flowers. Two bouquets bouquets were placed there by the family of the late Mrs. Amelia Lancaster. The choir sang two anthems "Harvest Home" and "Count your Blessings." Don Peddar of Kendal conducted conducted the services and entitled his talk "Give Thanks to the Lord." Frank Stapleton led in the services at Kendal. Newtonville Newtonville church services to be held on Oct. 24 th with Rev. Charles Catto from Pickering as guest soloist. Mrs. Lynda King will be conducting church services next Sunday. The Grand Opening of Alfie's Videos and Books was held last Thursday morning at 59 King St. W. in Bowmanville. The new store will carry the latest in video tapes and a good variety of preowned preowned books and magazines.
