The minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs. Beautty. We are having our euchre parties again this year and the first one will be October 23rd and November 20 at the library. A quilting was discussed. A travel agency has sent us a folder on putting on slides or film to advertise their tours. We decided to write about it and perhaps have one program in the new year. Miss Carruthers, convenor for Education had Mrs. Milford White show slides on the blind children who were entered into the Hollywood School, Toronto, where she taught a few years ago. She gave us an excellent talk on the work that has been done for the blind in the last 10 years, putting blind children into the everyday school with the regular pupils. This method is working with children who are only blind otherwise a normal student. Lunch was served by Miss Carruthers; and Mrs. Beatty, Miss Ruth Mills and Mrs. A. Austin assisted with the slides. Next meeting November 6 with Mrs. Edna Morris convenor for Citizenship and World Affairs preparing the program. Mrs. McAllister and Mrs. Thickson attended the opening meeting of the Arthritis Society Bluebird Club at Knights of Columbus Hall, Cobourg, on Wednesday evening. Steven Peacock was home on the weekend and had Glen Ball to visit with him on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Garry Fowler, Stirling, had the new home delivered last week and it was put on the foundation in a couple of days. Open house is the 13th and 14th of October. Mr. and Mrs. H.
