Space people Sophia Sagur, Ken Cornish and Todd Lepard described their sightings as various members of the Sunday School played out the pantomime of the nativity, read the scripture and sang two choral selections, "The Drummer Boy" and "Star of the East", with Mrs. Liz Carroll at the piano. Carrying on a tradition begun many years ago, Doug Dewell, Bowmanville, played a sparkling piano prelude of loved classical music. The Sunday School entered the sanctuary in a candle-bearing processional singing Silent Night, White Gift service of giving was incorporated into the story of the birth of love and the revelation of God to 'ordinary people'. A mitten tree was decorated under the direction of Pastor Lafave. The baubles of mitts, toques, socks and scarves will be passed on to the Salvation Army for distribution. A capacity crowd enjoyed the Christmas gathering in the beautifully decorated candlelit candlelit sanctuary. At the close of the service, fellowship and Christmas baking was enjoyed. At Tyrone United Church service on Sunday morning, the first candle of Advent was lit symbolizing "Hope". The choir sang "How Long, O Lord", the question made effective by the quality of the minor key. A flowering plant was placed in the sanctuary in memory of Jim Woodley by the Woodley family.
