BAHA'I FAITH The reason for God's having made Himself manifest, is none other than the training of man's souls, and the refining refining of the characters of all on earth who have freed themselves from the murk of the animal world. Bowmanville Phone 623-9519 were enjoyed by all, some affording amusement to the more than 200 friends and neighbors who called to express their love and good wishes. The entire afternoon was one of happiness and indicated the great esteem and love felt for the guests of honour. Following the afternoon reception, a candlelight dinner was enjoyed by 60 family members and close friends. The master of ceremonies was Mr. Carson Elliott, who, in his usual informal and charming manner had the entire gathering soon feeling as one happy family. Mrs. Marg Lawrie asked the blessing, and a delicious hot meal was served, again by the Ladies' Auxiliary. Mr. Charles Fletcher proposed a toast to his parents and Mr. Chris Laugher, a boyhood friend of Mr. Fletcher responded, recalling many boyhood experiences. Mr. Elliott called on several friends and neighbors to recount their memories of past encounters with the guests of honour. Their responses were most touching to the entire family who surrounded their parents at the head table. A most appropriate song was performed by a guest from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Juan Manuel Vesquez Alvarez. The remainder of the evening was spent by the guests in renewing old acquaintances and reminiscing happy times. The entire affair was a most memorable day for the children of Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher as well as their parents. It was indeed gratifying to see their beloved parents honoured by so many of their friends. Guests attended from San Diego, Houston, Clearwater, Florida, Mexico, Picton, Sarnia, Petrolia, Toronto, Oshawa, Port Hope and the Bowmanville area.
