Wanda Ball, of the Newcastle Environment Watchers, is shown here as she presents the keys to Glenda Gies, of the Durham Recycling Centre. Looking on are some of the many volunteers who have operated the depot up to the present time. They include Cindy Murdoch, Susan Marsh, Ivan Ball, Jim Read, Hugh Laing, and Peter Crane. Now that a recycling service is working in the town, Bowmanville residents can recycle their newspapers newspapers simply by placing them on the curb with regular garbage. In addition, there will be a dropoff dropoff depot at the Newcastle Public Works yard.
