Many Interesting Courses to be Offered in New YWCA Schedule by Catherine Denny Whether you want to be a good hostess, get back into shape, or finally learn how to knit, now is the time to get started. All it takes is a quick visit to the local YWCA office and a small registration fee to be well on your way to meeting new friends and broadening your horizons. This season's schedule of events include programs for all ages, from tots to senior citizens, but you'd better hurry to register while there's still some openings left. For the kids, the Oshawa YWCA through the Bow- Christmas Lights lobe held on Sunday, Dec. 16th Leaves from Memorial Park Clubhouse Those wishing to go, or needing transportation, call McGregor I.D.A. Drugs at 623-5792 We urge citizens to please co-operate by illuminating their homes. The tour will get underway at approximately 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Bowmanville Kinsmen Club manville office is offerind an Arts and Crafts program at the Newcastle Fitness Centre. This course will teach children about various various creative crafts which will include children from 3-5 years of age and simple art work. The program runs Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. beginning January 16 for eight weeks. The fee is $22, less $2 for YWCA members and registrants. Jazz Dance is another program for boys and girls, directed towards the 4-6, 7- 10, and 11-13 age groups. It will be held at various times on Saturdays at St. John's Church. The program begins begins January 19 for eight weeks. The fee is $24, less $2 for YWCA members and registrants. For adults there is the ever-popular Bumpkin course which gives instuc- tion on how to make soft sculptures. The program, which begins February 18 for 3 weeks, is $27 per person person in order to cover material material costs. And, for the budding hostess, hostess, the YWCA offers a Mini-Hostess course, designed designed to help women improve improve their entertaining skills. Lessons will begin February 7 for four weeks every Thursday from 7:30- 9:30 p.m. The fee, which includes includes all the necessary supplies in $37. Information regarding the numerous other programs programs from Fitness and Fun for Little Ones to Babysitter Training, can be obtained by phoning the Oshawa YWCA office before January January 3rd, or the Bowmanville office after January 3rd, 1985.
