Silivia is a local girl who attended Newtonville Public Public School and Clarke High School and is presently attending attending the University of Guelph. Silvia's achievements include include a third place finish with a time of 51 minutes for the 15 kilometre River Run in Jacksonville, Florida. She placed first with a time of 33 minutes, 35 seconds seconds in a 10 kilometre run in Tillsonburg, Ontario. Silvia placed first and set a new course record with a time of two hours, 30 minutes, minutes, 37 seconds in the 42 kilometer Olympic Trial Run at the Ottawa National Capital Marathon. She placed first with a time of 49 minutes 39 seconds seconds in a 15 kilometer Cascade Cascade Runoff in Portland, Oregon. Pat served a three-year term as Vice-President of the Social Planning Advisory Advisory Group and has been involved involved in the Town of Newcastle Newcastle Social Planning Council Since 1975. Along with being involved in a variety of projects, Pat was chairman from 1979-81 and is currently Secretary of this organization. She also chaired a committee committee of the Social Planning Planning Council that lead to the Town's incorporation into the United Way. She was a member of the United Way Budget Review Committee, a member of the Board of Directors and served on the Public Relations Committee. Committee. Pat Chaired the Handi- Transit Committee which responded to a Town Council Council request to examine the need and feasibility of starting a transportation service for the handicapped handicapped in Newcastle. Through her energy and dedication, this committee's work led to the initiation of Handi- Transit in the area. Pat Rundle served on the first Board of Directors of Community Care and participated participated in the program as a driver and held the position position of treasurer for two years. Pat co-ordinated a project which resulted in the publication of a community community services handbook, with the help of an experience experience '79 grant. Pat was also involved in establishing the Community Community Service Order program and has become the first community-based Co-or- dinator of the program. She has been currently involved in the Provincial Association Association for the Community Service Service Order Board, co-ordinating co-ordinating speakers for workshops workshops and organizing events for a province-wide three and a half day conference conference in Toronto this November.
