If you have been following following these boys this season you will realize that this is the club's first regular season victory. Opening the scoring for Bowmanville at the G: 10 mark of the second period was Kevin Ferguson with assists going to Corey Strand and Mathew Aitken. Bowmanville then took a commanding three goal lead with Danny Couillard and Craig Forsey scoring unassisted. Ajax broke Bowmanville's bid for a shut out at the 13:49 mark of the third period. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in her formal wedding gown of Tergal and French lace which was heavily beaded in pearls, sequins and crystal tear drops. A cathedral train complemented the gown. A fitted headpiece held a flowing, sheer veil and she carried a cascade bouquet of Cattleya orchids, stephanotis and ivy. The maid of honour was Miss Leslea Dalrymple and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Ronald Olsen, Miss Jennifer McMullen, sister of the groom and Miss Beverley Stevens, sister of the bride. Wearing formal gowns of teal green taffeta, they carried bouquets of Phalaenopsis orchids, white roses and stephanotis. Best man was Mr. Ian van Staalduinen and the ushers were Messrs. Stephen Bowen, Gregory McMullen, brother of the groom and Barry Stevens, brother of the bride. Receiving the guests at the reception held at the Lions Centre, Bowmanville, the bride's mother wore a royal blue formal silk gown with beaded jacket. The groom's mother, wearing a formal gown in shaded tones of brown with a mink jacket, assisted in receiving the guests. Master of ceremonies was Mr. Earl Wolff. Toast to the bride was given by Mr. Alan Strike. Leaving for a honeymoon in Jamaica, the bride wore a cream and purple wool suit with an iris corsage. Mr. and Mrs. McMullen, both recent successful candidates in the Chartered Accounting Final Examinations are now residing in Pickering. Prior to the wedding the bride was honoured at showers, given at the home of Mrs. Alan Strike, Bowmanville, a luncheon shower at the home of Mrs. Earl Wolff, Oshawa, at a luncheon held at the home of Mrs. McMullen, Toronto, mother of the groom and a Jack and Jill shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Olsen, Toronto. Afterwards we collected at the home of Mrs. Jean Dutton. The Institute Ode and the Mary Stewart Collect were said in unison. Our president, Mrs. Olive Henderson, asked Mrs. Jean O'Neill to give the report on the Institute convention she attended in November. It contained a lot of information on the various activities of the two days - well done Jean. Now it was Roll Call with a difference: silently mouth a fine carol, then the rest of us had fun trying to guess, When we did there was a sing-a-long. Time now for, our gift exchange with all being pleasantly surprised at the thoughtfulness of each little DarC el Mrs. Elizabeth Skelding said a big thank you to Jean for entertaining us once again.
