Seventh Day Adventist Responds to Ethiopia Crisis The Caring Church Responds to Ethiopia Condensing data recently received from ADRA (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) the following items of assistance had already been landed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, up to November 29,1984: 3,100 blankets, 200 family tents and 10 (25 man tents), 420 large tarps (shelter coverings), clothing for 72,000 people, 50 tons of high protein biscuits, and 12,380 pounds of medical supplies, plus five trucks en route from Europe, all with a total value of $1,000,000.00. From their headquarters staff, ADRA has dispatched Ken Flemmer, An Agricultural Specialist, William Jenson, Director for the Africa ADRA Bureau, and Larry Clifford, ADRA's temporary director in Ethiopia, where the Seventh- day Adventist Church operates two centres at the present time, one at Makele which is a clinic feeding 12,000, and the other at Wolls feeding 15,000. Other help forthcoming to sustain this program includes $1.5 million worth of clothing to be given every six months by the Bryland Company, seed valued at $270,510.00 donated by the Burpee Seed Company, as well as another 80 tons of seed offered by another company. The world-wide support of the church- has made the above report possible.
