On Monday, eleven ladies gathered at the Haydon Community Centre to have Mrs. Val Lloyd instruct them in the Rug Braiding Course. - We start by getting the'proper method of folding - fastening, braiding and then stitch together together to make a trivot. I understand when you stitch, it is supposed to talk to you - but our braidings were dumb, so several ladies took the contrary contrary little things home where we could talk out loud while we finished the beastly job. Then in March when there is an achievement day, we're hoping to have conquered the knack and have an extra item completed. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Blackburn, Blackburn, Susan and Jeremy of Orono were Friday evening visitors with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Blackburn. To bring those up to date who are interested in Linda Clarke's son Randy's progress - he is now in Edmonton's University Hospital and although he'll have a cast on his leg for three months, he is learning the handling of a wheelchair. You can't really keep these young fellows down. Mr. and Mrs. E. Banks had an anxious few days when their youngest child was rushed to Oshawa Hospital and then on to Toronto Sick Children's Hospital last week, but we're pleased to report he's back home again. Mrs. Tom Potts will be returning returning home from Bowmanville Bowmanville Hospital this week after having surgery. We wish Rena a speedy recovery. And another lady who was a Haydon girl is a patient in Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Ray Cameron of Pontypool. A speedy recovery is also wished to Gail. Mrs. Cecil Kennedy accompanied accompanied her sister Ms. Linda McCormick of Newcastle and spent several days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Torhpkins of New Brunswick.
