t 16 The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanvillc, February 13,1985 Kool Now Unbeaten in Six Games On Saturday, February 9th, Kool Enterprise Bantams pul their unbeaten streak on the line against Capri in what would prove to be a very erratic game. The first period started slowly with neither team seemingly interested in scoring and it wasn't until the 8:00 mark that Kool's Tony Dyer scored on a long, dropping dropping shot from his right defensive defensive position that caught the Capri goalie by surprise. Brent MacKay assisted. This one goal lead stood up until the final minute of the period when Capri managed to tie the game. ■ The second period continued in the same vein as the first, with the sole exception of Todd DeGooyer's goal early in the period. This was scored only after some very diligent work by Todd in front of Capri's net. Assists were awarded to Sean Powers and Trevor Bog- danow. The period was down to the final three minutes when Capri scored again to even the game. With the beginning of the . third period, the Kool team seemed to find its lost hockey skills and start to carry the play. Despite Kool's renewed spirit, the Capri boys were able to keep the score even at two apiece, until Paul • Smethurst notched Kool's third goal and the eventual winner. Paul scored on a low shot to the right-hand corner after receiving a perfect pass from Jeff Stevens, with the second assist going to Shaun Carlton. Kool continued to play well, especially defensively defensively as the period wound down. Shaun Carlton scored the final goal of the game on a well-placed set-up by Brent MacKay in front of the Capri net. Todd DeGooyer received the second assist. The final score of the game was 4 - 2, Kool over Capri. Atoms Lose Both Games On Weekend The Flying Dutchman Major Atoms have dug themselves themselves a deep hole in the O.M.H.A.
