Mel Buttars. The topic of his sermon was Adam and Grace, and his message brought the assurance that God's Grace is sufficient. It far outweighs the sins committed by Adam and you and me. He used as an illustration the story of the lady in a small town who had been,a benefactor to all during her life time but excluded from burial in hallowed ground of the only cemetery in town because she was without the fold. They wanted to honour her without breaking their laws so she was buried just outside the fence. At night many who had been helped by her came and moved the fence to include her resting place; God's grace can do that too. The children's story became real to them when Rev. Buttars showed them a light bulb and cord and when lit the cord looked no different but they knew there was a power there they could not see, but it was something you could feel, as we do the wind without seeing. So, it was easy to explain that God was real without being able to see Him. The offering was received by Allin Osborne, and Bill Beckett. Beautiful flowers were placed in the church in loving memory of Mrs. Hazel Holman, mother of Marion Bamsey (Mrs. Ross) and Mrs. Ella May Winnifie, sister of Mrs. Chris Beatty.
