A good crowd turned out, in spite of the horrible weather, to see the serious drama. In preparation for the show, in addition to rehearsing their lines, the performers were transformed with excellent make-up and costumes. NESTLETON-CAESAREA Variety Programme Saturday, February 23, was indeed an evening evening of fun and games for all ages held in Nestleton United Church Sunday School room. Several families showed a variety variety of talents in skits and musical numbers. These . were intersj^ersed with several fun games. A delicous lunch and a social time concluded the evening. A good time was had by everyone present. Sorry, some were unable to be pre- 1, sent due to illness, fog, jf etc. Trip Enjoyed John and Doreen Rush, Scugog Point, were in Cancun, Mexico, holidaying for a two week period. The Island of Cancun is 10 years old and is a paradise spot - just takes your breath away - with turquoise water and balmy breezes all the time. They stayed > at the Aristos Hotel - on the main floor. The Mexico Mexico people are just terrific terrific - friendly, colourful, happy, eager to please and a joy to be with. They can't do enough for you. To sum it all up - a restful holiday - siestas every afternoon and food most delicious. Welcome home folks! Congratulations to step-son Mark Rush, Toronto, who bought a $2.00 ticket and won $10,000 - a real winner! His parents were very pleased for him. Nestleton United Church The first Sunday of Lent saw a good attendance attendance at Nestleton United Church for an inspiring inspiring youth service. Elaine Barber assisted Rev. Dale Davis and told the story to the Sunday School students. The theme was on "Freedom to be Me." Claire MacKenzie and Ken Weir presented an amusing amusing skit showing that all are born equal- sterotyjjes develop as we grow. A quintet of Jennifer, Jennifer, Claire and Kay Notman and Leslie and Janice MacKenzie sang, "Joy is Like the Rain" very harmoniously, accompanied accompanied by Rev. Dale Davis on his guitar, The beautiful flowers in the sanctuary were in memory of Grahame Fish. Caesarea Euchre On Wednesday evening, evening, congratulations to the following winners. Chaperones for the evening evening were Patti Thistle and her Mother. Of interest interest were two spot dances and the club members wish to thank Irwin Smith Music, Port Perry, for donating records for the dances. The frolic lasted from 7 to 10 p.m. for age group 11.-15 years. The youngsters featured something new- a little "break dancing" - need plenty of skill to navigate that! The worship service was conducted by Effa Stainton reading Scripture Matthew 3:11', followed by Jean reading an appropriate poem "The Love of God" and hymn "Take My Life" was sung closing this portion with Prayer. The Roll was called with something to do re- Love. Marion Hall and Effa Stainton reviewed the Missionary study on Korea. With the aid of a map, the girls had a comprehensive comprehensive study- a broad and, complete covering of the material. Very interesting indeed! Town will Participate in New Program The Town of Newcastle is participating in the province's province's "Involvement in Municipal Administration" program, which hopes to provide as many as 350 student student positions across Ontario, Ontario, in 1985.
