Shane, Alan Freeman and Everett Smith, each took time to tell their life stories and each received as a birthday gift, a box of flowers on behalf of the club and presented by George W. James. The Bowmanville Rotary Octette composed of Messrs. Melville Dale, F.O. Mcllveen, C.W. Slemon, H.J. Knight, Geo. E. Chase, W.R. Strike, W.E. Groves and D.R. Morrison rendered several numbers at Trinity United Church on Sunday evening. Thirty Bowmanville merchants merchants will participate in a big shopping event which starts on Friday and runs for seven days. More than $100 is offered in the prize list. Mr. and Mrs. LAV. Luffman, Johnny and Leslie have returned from a three week's visit with Mrs. Luffman's mother, Mrs. Eva Roberts, in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Dr. Doris Tremeer's hobby of spinning the combings combings of their Samoyed dogs was featured in this month's issue of Chatelaine and written by Elsie Lunney. Howie Mashinter was chosen "Star of the Week" in Town League Hockey action action and awarded the War Surplus Sales award. Mrs. A.A. Merkley sang two lovely selections at the Senior Citizens meeting Tuesday evening. 49 members members were present. The mistress mistress of ceremony was Mrs. Lionel Parker Jr. Mr. John Tabb was the winner of the draw prize. Kramp, of Bowmanville, Bowmanville, has purchased the stock and will operate the furniture business owned for the past 80 years by the F.F. Morris Company, and located on King Street E., Bowmanville. Mr. Ross Metcalf was the guest speaker at the February February 24th meeting of the Oshawa' branch of the Ontario Ontario Registered Music Teacher's Association, held at the home of Mrs. L.W. Parrott. Mr. Metcalf spoke on Elementary School Music. Mrs. Jack Dunn, president president of the Lionettes Club presented a television set to Memorial Hospital for use in the first floor patient's lounge, on behalf of the club. Mary Lou Malcolm was chosen Cartwright High School "Heart Queen" on February 21st in Blackstock.
