On Sunday, Mr. Bruce Trim of Newmarket was an overnight overnight and Monday guest of his mother, Mrs. Isabelle Trim. OBITUARY St, PauVs Young People Try Luck as Yard Sale People MR. SIDNEY F.LUXTON The death of Sidney F. Luxton occurred suddenly in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, on Thursday, April 25th, 1985, in his 81st year. Son of the late Frederick and Emma Luxton, he was born and educated in Bowmanville. On October 28th, 1924, he was married to Donelda Couch. A resident at 252 King Street East, Bowmanville for two years he had previously resided at 143 Liberty Street South. He had retired 18 years ago from Goodyear Canada Ltd., Bowmanville. Left to mourn his passing are his wife, three sons, Harold, Earl and Bill, 14 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was predeceased predeceased by a daughter Emma Bromell in 1968. Mr. Luxton rested at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville with the Reverend John Peters officiating officiating at the funeral services held on Monday. Mrs. J. Albert Cole presided at the chapel organ. Pallbearers were Messrs. Larry and Don Luxton, Bruce Knowlton, Rick Bromell, George Bowen and Rodney Sellers. Numerous floral tokens and donations to charities were received in his memory. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Funds raised from the sale will be used for a camping program at Indian Point, in Prince Edward County. In addition to its High C group for older teens, St. Paul's has approximately 45 in its junior young peoples' program. The junior group is open to those 10 to 14 years of age. From left are: Flor- Carter. 2nd Juried Photo Contest Starts May 22nd at VAC The Visual Arts Centre of Newcastle, known for its frequent presentations of Fine Arts shows and excellent courses, is again busily working, co-sponsored by the Soper Creek Photography Club on the presentation of another fine Photography show, the "Second Annual Juried Photography Contest and Show." Last year's similar show was a trememdous success, attracting the works of over 50 photo enthusiasts not only from Bowmanville and surroundings, but also from places as far as Toronto to the west and Kingston to the east. The works submitted showed a high level of photographic skill and were admired by the numerous visitors. It is hoped that this year's participation will even be better so that a visit of the show would be very gratifying to all who are interested in photography, and the arts in general. The exhibition will begin with an opening night reception reception on Wednesday, May 22nd from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. and will continue through to Thursday, May 30 th, from 1 - 4 p.m. daily. The judging of the works submitted (in either black and white or colour) will be done by the well known judges, Mr. E.
