Mediator for School Contract Is Appointed The Education Relations Commission has appointed Mr. D.S. (Doug) Lawless of Burlington to act as Mediator in the negotiations between the Secondary Teachers and the Trustees of the Northum- berland-Newcastle Board of Education. D.S. Lawless Mr. Lawless brings an extensive background in both education and dispute resolution resolution to this appointment. He has been a teacher, principal, and Director of Education. In 1972, he was appointed to the Education Resource Allocation Allocation System Task Force (ERAS) and in 1975 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Education Relations Relations Commission. Mr. Lawless Lawless recently retired as the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Large School Boards of Ontario (ALSBO), a position-which he held since 1978. I Mr. Lawless has had previous previous mediation appointments with Oxford Secondary, Mus- koka Secondary, and Northumberland Northumberland and Newcastle Secondary.
