She turned the programme programme over to Muriel Hoskin, convenor for Cultural Activities. Beth Schryburt with four grade six students and two grade one students put on a Drama Demonstration, Demonstration, demonstrating demonstrating voice pitch, speed and description. The students were asked to say a sentence two different different ways to point out which pitch or volume they were gettirlg across. They acted out a few skits of nursery rhymes. Beth will be missed at the meetings as she and her family are moving to Rochester, Michigan. Beth was presented with a framed Mary Stewart Collect and an Earland Lee Home mug. Nestleton-Caesarea News by Mabel Cawker Attend Graduation Ceremony Roy and Doris Nottingham Nottingham of Caesarea attended attended the impressive Graduation Ceremony, June 1, 1985 when their granddaughter, Lisa Nottingham, received her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees from Lakehead University, Thunder Bay. She is the daughter of Jack and Karel Nottingham Nottingham of Port Perry. Our congratulations to Lisa! Nestleton Women's Institute Hold Interesting Meeting The Nestleton W.I. Branch met at the Community Community Centre, Wed. June 5 at 1:30 p.m. President President Mrs. Don Frew brought the meeting to order with a warm welcome to members and guests. Following the Ode and Mary Stewart Collect she read a short poem by Carl Sandberg. The Roll Call - State one way the Atomic age is changing our lives - brought forth interesting replies. The beneficial Micro wave oven, ultra sound, satellites, computers, etc. were balanced by the fear of nuclear holocaust. Minutes were read by Mrs. R. France, and approved approved and an encouraging encouraging financial statement given. District Director. Mrs. R. Davison brought an excellent report of the District Annual. Four members plan to attend the 85th Anniversary of Bowmanville W.I. on June 6. During the business period, plans for a display at Blackstock Fair were discussed. Members voted to continue to donate the prize for most improvement in writing at Public School Graduation. Graduation. The August 14th meeting is to be a trip to Lindsay for lunch and Academy Theatre production production of the comedy "Cake Walk". Citizenship Citizenship and World Affairs convenor Mrs. G. Fish planned the following programme. The Motto - The handclasp handclasp of friendship outshines outshines the Peace Treaty - was presented by Mrs. L. Malcolm. She stated that this ideal world will not be realized in our lifetime. With reference to an article in Current Reader's Digest she discussed the nuclear war issues. We must have faith that the Universe is unfolding as it was meant to. The reading "Desiderata" was read later with a worthwhile philosophy for living. It begins "Go slowly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there be in silence" and it ends; "It ■s still a beautiful world, 'c cheerful. Strive to be •appy." Two readings vvere presented by Mrs. H. McLaughlin - "What Have You Given Away" and The Value of Frankness." The meeting closed with O Canada and the Women's Institute Grace. Dainty refreshments were served served by Mrs. H. McLaughlin and Mrs. R. Davison. The apprecition was expressed by Mrs. R. France. Next meeting July 3 will be held at the home of Mrs. J.
