Museum Briefs INTERPRETATION AWARENESS WEEK, JULY 15-21,1985 The Bowmanville Museum is pleased to announce its participation in the Interpretation Interpretation Canada programme of Interpretation Awareness Week, July 15 to 21 of this year. To commemorate the occasion occasion the Museum will be hosting an "on hands" exhibit of tools and artifacts from the collection in order that visitors visitors may acquire a genuine feel for history. The exhibit, called "REACH BACK AND TOUCH HISTORY," runs from July 16 to 21 as part of the regular guided Museum tour. In addition, the Goodyear Exhibit (titled Bowmanville Goodyear First in Canada, 1910), will be closing in mid- July. I encourage everyone who has not yet seen it to hurry-after all, we've waited 75 years to exhibit an impressive impressive array of Goodyear products products and memorabilia. Of interest to brides past, and brides-to-be, the Friends of the Museum have assembled assembled a romantic complimentary complimentary exhibit of Wedding Gowns-one from each decade of this century. Dan Hoffman, Curator CLARKE TOWNSHIP MUSEUM Clarke Township Museum would like to take this moment to thank Mr. Lawrence Mill- son of Oshawa for the donation of a washing machine circa 1908. Thanks are also in order to Mr. Ron Phillips of Newton- ville and Mrs. Norma Lee and the Orono Art Club for the fine display they set up in and around the Museum this past weekend. Some of the pieces are still on display. Come out and see them, they're quite good. Coming July 7th, Clarke Township Museum will be sponsoring an historical tour of Orono, The tour will start at 7:30 p.m. in front of the Library. Library. The tour guide will be Helen Schmid, co-author of "Out of the Mists", a book on the history of Clarke Township with emphasis on Orono. The tour is free and everyone is invited to attend.
