Completely surprised, surprised, Janice was escorted to the special chair by Sandra (Lora) Stroud who also pinned a corsage on her dress. This flower was courtesy of Van- derstoop's flower shop in Port Hope where Janice works. The room was decorated attractively with pink and white streamers and bells. In front of Janice was a table filled to overflowing with all shapes and sizes of gaily wrapped parcels. She was assisted in opening these and listing them, by her sister Ann and Sandra. The many ribbon bows were fastened to a heart shaped fan made of palm strips. A miniature bride and groom centred the table of gifts. The gifts included many pieces of her crystal pattern and chosen china. Janice thanked her friends who had spared no pains to make this a happy evening for her. Delicious Delicious sandwiches, lemonade and tea were served followed by servings of a large decorated decorated cake. Mrs. Juanita Lord, Mrs. Eileen Henderson and Mrs. Alberta Johnston were the committee in charge, ably assisted by the young people.
