Local Museum Ideal Setting For Weddings The Bowmanville Museum is quickly becoming becoming a favorite location for wedding photographers and wedding parties. Museum Curator Dan Hoffman estimates that approximately approximately 60 couples have had their wedding pictures pictures taken at the museum grounds this year or inside the building itself. There's no cost for brides and grooms to use the garden garden as a backdrop for their wedding photos. However, those wishing to do so are asked to advise the museum first. Those using the interior of the historic Silver St. house are charged a $10 fee and they must notify the museum in advance. "Props" such as top hats, a gold-tipped cane, and silk fan are available for sittings sittings inside the museum. Slide Program Available for Museum Buffs Groups who are not able to visit the Bowmanville Museum may request the Bowmanville Museum to come to them. A collection of 110 slides on the historic Bowmanville Bowmanville building is available from the museum. Curator Dan Hoffman explained that the collection collection includes photos of the building when it was originally originally used as a private residence. residence. OBITUARY COLANSTEPHENS Colan Stephens: 111 since April, the death of Colan Stephens, occured on September 24th, 1985, at his residence, 13388 State Rd. 23 Granger, Indiana. A son of the late William and Charlotte Stephens, he was born December 5th, 1903, at Enniskillen, Enniskillen, Ontario. He was married to Violet Weston on January 21, 1929. Surviving are his wife and four sons, Frederick of Goshen, Conrad of Menesha, Wisconsin, Terrance of Osceola, and Michael of Berrien Springs, Michigan, a daughter, Kathleen Gunter, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, 15 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a sister, Ethel Gibbs of Tyrone, Ontario. He was predeceased by a son, Ronald, a grandson Kirk, and brothers, Robert, Roy, Upton, and Ivan, and by three sisters, Iva, Lola and Marion. A resident of Granger, Indiana, for the last 14 years lie had previously resided in South Haven, Michigan. Mr, Stephens was employed with the Michigan State Highway Department for 32 years, The Reverend Conrad Stephens, a son, officiated at the funeral services held on Thursday at the Warner Funeral Home Osceola, Indiana.
