With the first performance coming up October 26th, they are working very hard perfecting their lines and gestures. The performances at 1:30 and 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26 and 27 in the BHS Theatre are expected to attract full houses as this is the Drama Workshop's 25th anniversary celebration production. Tickets are available by calling 623-5202 or any club member. Enniskillen News 4-H Group call themselves the Cooking Cuties, 4-H Meeting Number 3, Enniskillen. Enniskillen. Cathy was ready to call the meeting to order. But wait, some people weren't there. Who were the people missing? The people missing Terry Shaw and what's this, I hear our leader Mrs. Whitbread wasn't here yet. Oh what a relief, she sent a replacement, Mrs. Burke volunteered to take her place. The meeting will come to order. Cathy announced and welcomed our guest, Mrs. Burke, she will be helping us tonight. It was time to get down to work. This week we made carrot pie and as we were making the pie everybody everybody was making comments - Gross. That's awful looking. While the pie was cooking we talked about it. When it was done everybody tasted it. Nobody liked it. Next we made cornish pasties and everybody liked them. 9:00 p.m. The meeting is now adjourned. 4-H Meeting No. 4 Enniskillen. Enniskillen. The meeting had already started and we were saying our pledge. All seven people were there so we decided to make apple chiffon cake. I thought that was unusual, apple cake. But it turned out pretty good. As we were making it everybody wanted to peel the apples. Luckily, there were enough apples for all of us. Now we'made pumpkin pumpkin cake. Another unusual (cake I thought. Oh well. Anally it was finished. I could , .lardly wait to taste it, it wasn't that good or bad or,4 really don't know. 9:05 p.m; time to go. Cathy adjourned the meeting and we left to go home. The 1st Enniskillen Brownies visited the Durham Regional Police Station in Oshawa on Wednesday. United Church Women Report The U.C.W. was held at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 16th at the church. President Merle Avery welcomed everyone and opened the meeting with a poem "October." We repeated our U.C.W. purpose followed by prayer. Merle gave a brief report on the Regional meeting. meeting. If you have any old eye glasses save them and bring to nteetinjg. Offering was received and dedicated by Ella. Phylis then introduced our guest Mrs. Marilyn Schamerhorn speaking speaking on pornography, our special concern for this year. Lynn thanked Marilyn and presented her with a gift of appreciation. Merle closed the meeting with prayer. All enjoyed a lovely lunch and social hour/i Sympathy is extended to Mrs. Donald Wright and family, Bethany and the Lloyd Wright family of Blackstock in the recent death of Donald Douglas Wright who was instantly i burned to death when an explosion took place on the Trans Canada Pipe Line just south of Columbus. He was a partner with the Walter-Wright drainage and had done drainage ' work on several farms in our area. Seriously burned and in the burn unit in Wellesley Hospital, Toronto, is Graham Duff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Duff, Blackstock. Also in serious condition in Oshawa Hospital is Kevin Brazier of Lindsay. Our prayers are with all the involved people in this tragic accident. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wearn, Peterborough, Mr. Ross Rowlands, Scarborough were recent visitors of Miss Clara Page. Glad to report Mr. Carl Ferguson is improving after being a patient in Port Perry Hospital. Hope he will be home by the time this news report comes out in the paper. Happy birthday wishes go to Tommy Kerr on his third birthday celebrated on Oct. 20th. Mrs. Ruby Trewin and Jean Slemon, Haydon visited with Mrs. Annie Armstrong ' and' daughter, Wrangler Island, Alaska, at her brother's, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Fee, Black- stock. Congratulations go to Mr. and Mrs. Brian Hall (nee Judy Virtue) who were married in our church on Saturday. Mr. Steve , Thompson, Mitchell's Corners was a Sunday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stainton and family. Many from the area attended attended the Hall-Virtue wedding on Saturday. ! Miss Myrtle Tamblyn and Mrs. Ella Bowman had all the family home for dinner on Sunday. We were saddened to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Lena Heard who has been a patient at Hillsdale Manor for a number of years. She was known for her kindness and generosity to all who knew her. We extend sympathy to her daughter Eleanor, husband John Lyte and family, Oshawa, Elgin, wife Madeline Heard and family, Newcastle, and son Deane Heard of Orillia, also to her sister and brothers. Stainton Application For Hydro Debenture Cancelled Newcastle Council called a special meeting on October October 21st to cancel an application application for a $300,000 debenture debenture for Newcastle's Hydro-Electric Commission. Commission. The funds were requested requested last week as backup backup financing for the construction construction of the commission's commission's new operations centre at Lamb's Road and Highway 2. As Newcastle Hydro has since sold its buildings, ( the interim financing ' is no longer necessary. Fortunately, Durham Region's Region's financial agents have not received any commitment commitment to purchase the debenture debenture as yet. And the Regional Regional Council will have received received the official requests from Newcastle's council and the commission to withdraw withdraw the debenture issue before its meeting on October October 23rd.
