About 65 attended attended with visiting officers from Ajax, Oshawa, Whitby, Claremont, Claremont, Port Perry and Brooklin. A delicious dinner was prepared and served by branch members and a lovely floral arrangement was pre-. sented to the Auxiliary by Branch President, Gloria Grant, and accepted by Auxiliary President Helene Wallis. It was unanimously decided by the members to send the flowers to Comrade Ann Piper in hospital. A 50-50 draw was held and the winners were - Eleanor Kirtley, Edith Mantle and Mary Blunt. The guests were welcomed by Zone Commander Audrey Bate. The ladies were delightfully entertained by Branch member Stirling Mather who spun a few stories and recited a well memorized poem called "Califfs Courtship." The enjoyable evening was concluded with a few tables of euchre. Pins for 30 years service to the Legion Ladies Auxiliary were presented by President Helene Wallis, far right, to 1-r, G. Murdoch, N. Sheehan, A. Bate and A. Anderson. Santa Parade News Bowmanville's Santa Claus Parade committee is still looking for people willing willing to be Santa's helpers on November 16. One way you can help Santa is by getting together with friends and working on a Santa Claus Parade float. Float Committee Chairman Chairman Ede Cole said last week that the parade already already has firm commitments commitments from about 15 groups interested in entering the parade. She adds that 25 or 30 floats will be needed for this year's event. Anyone interested in entering entering a float this year is asked to call Mrs. Cole at 623-2405 or 623-3835 for further details. And while the November 16 Santa Claus Parade promises to be an excellent spectacle for young and old, the parade committee reminds reminds participants that it's not too early to think about next year.
