Co-op Venture Makes Brochure For Lindsay Jim Paterson Lands and Waters Administrator Kathy Reid Cartographer The Lindsay district of the ministry of Natural Resources has taken a new approach in the production of an administrative brochure. The Lindsay Chamber of Commerce and the ministry are working together to complete this project. To assist in the completion of the brochure a cartographer has been hired under a federal employment program, "Secion 38", sponsored through Sir Sandford Fleming College. The brochure will provide visitors to the Lindsay district with an informative guide to the natural resources within the area. The front of the brochure is comprised of a fisheries chart and a map illustrating provincial Crown " lands, agreement forests, comprised of a fisheries chart and a map illustrating provincial Crown lands, agreement forests, conservation authority areas and other recreational facilities. On the reverse side, text and photographs highlight the ministry's programs within the Lindsay district. The Lindsay Chamber of Commerce has taken on the role of publisher for the district brochure. To offset production costs, the Chamber is welcoming financial support from area businesses and agencies. Promotional advertisements focusing on goods and services required by outdoor recreationalists are being invited for inclusion in the brochure. The advertisements will act as a service directory for visitors and will promote area businesses. The collection of advertisements will appear on the reverse side of the brochure following the ministry's text and photographs. The Lindsay district brochure will be an asset to anyone planning a visit to the area. The brochure will be available to the public in early 1986. Visitors may obtain their free copy at the Linsay district office, Chamber of Commerce and tourism offices. In addition, the local provincial parks and businesses advertising in the brochure will be distributing copies.
