The Cabbage Patch "First Tooth" doll was won by Deanna Anderson. The evening was concluded concluded with treats of sweets and drinks for everyone. At their convention last weekend, local Witnesses and their friends were part of the 1931 listening as Mr. Winston Peacock, a representative of the Watch Tower Society, discussed prospects of global peace. Peacock pointed out that people everywhere now see global peace as the only alternative alternative to global destruction. But he also quoted statements from world leaders indicating that it is unrealistic to expect the United Nations or other political systems to bring about global peace. Turning to the Bible, Peacock showed that human endeavours can be successful only when they are in full harmony with God's purpose and direction, something that is not the case now. But he also showed that the Bible clearly states that global peace will come about in our time through God's Kingdom which will bring about profound changes for humanity and the earth. In view of this, Peacock urged the listeners to turn to God and to establish a good personal relationship with him, so that they will be able to enjoy the benefits of global peace under God's direction. We placed two wreaths on the cenotaph after the two minute silence. The individual poppies were carefully made by every child in the school to help us understand understand the solemness of the day.
