Forward Chris Poirier opened the scoring with a picturesque goal. After the initial score, the line of Jeremy Snowden, Richard MacCheyne and Billy MacIntyre took care of the other eight markers. Jeremy had three goals and two assists while Richard picked up two goals and three assists. Their playmaking was dazzling. dazzling. The defence was solid in their own zone and Steve Kay and Dusty Couch picked up a couple of assists supporting the offence. Goalie Christian Forsey was full value for his shut-out stopping a couple of close chances. On Friday, November 15, the I.O.O.F. crew travelled to Whitby and played a very exciting game against the Whitby Major Selects. The game featured close play and tight checking which resulted in the second period but the I.O.O.F. crew evened the match before the period closed. Sean Snow stole the puck from a Whitby defence- man and made the goaltender dance before depositing the puck in the net. The Bowmanville Bowmanville boys went ahead early in the third period on an accurate shot by Jeremy Snowden. Whitby pushed hard for the remainder of the game and scored the equalizer on a short handed effort in the last minute of play. On Saturday, November 16, the Pickering Village Selects provided the opposition in a return match at home. They were still smarting from the thrashing administered by the I.O.O.F. squad the previous game. They were determined to even the record and forced the homeside to play catch up until the last period. Centre Duane Adams notched the first two for the homeside evening the match on each occasion. When Pickering went ahead for the third time, defenceman Chris Raby drew the team even again with a blast from the point. Billy MacIntyre and Jeremy Snowden scored in rapid succession in the middle of the third period closing the scoring scoring in the 5 - 3 final. The final four minutes of the game found the I.O.O.F. crew playing playing two men short due to penalties, however, they successfully defended the two goal margin. Atom Selects Outskated By Markham On Saturday, November 16, Darlington Selects hosted Markham in an early morning game. Our players do not seem to perform well in these early games and as a result we were outskated by the Markham team. The final score was 4 - 1. Jason Wichman scored our goal and Craig Cowles got the assist. On Saturday evening the team played Whitby at Art Thompson Arena. Darlington Selects outplayed the Whitby team in the first half and went ahead by 2 - 0 early in the game with two unassisted goals by Jamie Brake and Ryan Becker. However, Whitby came back and scored three goals with one goal being questionable. Despite the fact that we came up short the team skated very well and hustled better in this game. rr Call 623-5577 for Flowers Antonella, Marlene, Carol and Donna INVITE YOU TO COME IN FOR THE LATEST IN THE FASHIONABLE STYLES We have Perms and Body Waves Fora Natural Look!
