While we tend to take good news at face value, we have a knack for resisting resisting bad news. No where is this more true than in the matter of death. While all of us know we must ' one day die, we tend to ignore or deny this simple Irulh. Even when faced with the proximity of our death, or the death of someone close to us, we may go to great psychological lengths to escape dealing with this reality. To psychologists, this is known as DENIAL Denial may last for a few moments, moments, a few days or months, or it may never go away. Some days, we may be able to deal quite openly with the impending impending death; other days, we may be unable to face it. It is a protective protective reaction, designed to defend us from shocking and overwhelming news. In this way it can be natural, even healthy; but eventually we must learn to accept the ultimate ultimate reality.
