A few ladies, namely Beth Nielsen, Eileen Blackburn, Gerlinda Haunstien, Jean Ashton drove to Port Hope to enjoy their Legion noon dinner, dinner, which I hear was every bit as good as last year, on Wednesday and then they went on to Cobourg to do a little shopping. Mr. and Mrs. Lars Christensen, Christensen, Mrs. Gladys Potts and Mrs. June Trewin went to the Annual Enfield Church Service Service on Sunday evening where Floyd Lloyd and members of his band entertained with the good old hymns. Miss Charlene Potts attended the Pathfinders camp weekend outing at the Ganaraska Park. 1 Mr. Tom Jones, Toronto was an overnight visitor Friday evening with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones. Friday evening friends gathered at the Community Centre for a •" miscellaneous shower for Susan Slemon. Lori Garrard pinped a corsage on Susan and the party got started. With Mrs. Dee Trewin on her left and Lori attempting attempting to make an overdress of bows and ribbons while Cheryl Graham looked after the wrapping paper. Moral support support helps a great deal in these showers and Susan received a lovely array of gifts. She thanked all and gave the invitation invitation to come and see her and Todd at their apartment at Bloor and Farewell St., Oshawa. Lloyd and Jean Slemon are holding Open House for a Trousseau Tea on Sunday next for Susan. Oh yes, the men are invited too. Mr. Bill Potts, Kincardine fairly blew in on his parents Mr. and Mrs. Jack Potts Friday Friday night and then on to Toronto with friends to watch the Blue Jays play. Jim and Mary Spry and Ashley, Toronto spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Potts. Sunday night another of Jack and Glady's sons came, Deb of Long Sault and spent the night before he attended a conference in Toronto for a couple of days. Mrs. Barb Walsh and Mrs. Gladys Potts attended the catering committee's meeting at the Lion's Centre on Monday Monday evening. Mr. Harry Degeer, Black- stock and Miss Cora Degeer called on Jack and Blanche Jozies, John and Sandy on Sunday afternoon. We wish much improved health to Mrs. John (Betty) Roth as she has been transferred transferred to Toronto Hospital. A wish to get well from all her Haydon friends. Next Monday evening, June 9th, Club 21 will hold their last meeting for the summer with Group 1 taking charge. June Trewin, Brenda Lucchi, Jan Mayer and Blanche Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Nancy) Gordon had their Grampa McEven up from Kingston for the day. Angie, Deirdre, and Amy had a ball as their Aunt Marion, Uncle Bruce, Uncle John, Uncle David and Aunt Linda and cousins Shirley, Ted, Heather, Caine and Ryan all came up for a barbeque on Sunday and luckily the rain held off. I hope you folks won't mind me slipping this in the Haydon News as it comes along with a wee bit of pride.
