Scouts Take Part in Camporee The 1st Hampton Sea Scouts, Boy Scouts of Canada, were invited to take part in the recent Boy Scout Camporee hosted by Oshawa District. The Camporee was held at Camp Samac. This year is Camp Samac's 40th Anniversary. A total of 40 troops were invited to attend including several troops as far away as the United States, participating. Each troop taking part, was represented by one patrol consisting of 5 or 6 Scouts each. Many challenging events took place during the three-day camp. These challenges began as soon as the Scouts entered the camp grounds with inspection of equipment and gear, uniform and patrol boxes. Meechan, Oshawa Salvation Army. He challenged the Scouts to lead a useful life guided by their Faith and Scouting Promise. The music was played by the Salvation Army Band. The Scouts left the Camporee having made many new friends and having learned new skills. At the last meeting of the Hampton Scouting Group Committee, Scouters Tony Clements and Dan Jones expressed the committee's sincere appreciation to President Cheryl Goff for her outstanding contribution to the Hampton Scouting movement during the past two years. She was presented with a Commemorative Can Quest plate from Valley Forge Council, Neskenno District, Pennsylvania.
