Jones Mrs. Lloyd Slemon was a recent caller at Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Taylor, Orono. Mr. and Mrs. John Adams and family attended the party at the Haydon Centre for Mr. R.Paterson on Saturday evening. On Sunday John and Diane Adams and children called on John and Cecile Bertrim. Then Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. J. Adams visited with Mr. and Mrs. Roger (Marilyn) Moffat. Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Blackburn accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones to the Senior Citizen dinner at Enniskillen on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. David Atkinson, Oakville spent the week-end with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Lars Christensen - and celebrated birthdays. David's was a belated affair and Mary Ellen a little early- so we wish all a Happy Birthday. Mr. Donald Pickles accompanied Lars and Dorie Christensen to the Seniors Hot beef dinner at Enniskillen on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Lloyd, Sarah and Nicola were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moore, Montreal. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Liptay and family attended the Royal Winter Fair on Friday and while Steve worked, the family enjoyed many sights of the fair. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Spry and Ashley, Toronto popped in on Mr. and Mrs. Jack Potts, Friday evening. Ashley stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Potts and John while her parents attended a retirement party in Cobourg. They returned to the Potts for the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Art (June) Trewin accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Walter (May) Loveridge, Tyrone to visit with Mrs. David Malcolm at Rosemeer Manor, Lakefield, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne (Carol) Rusaw attended his brother Ray's sixtieth birthday celebrations at Colborne, Saturday evening. '"Mr. Tom Jones, Mrs. Lorraine Mackin and son, John, and Miss Carrie Kellet, all of Toronto were Sunday supper guests with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones and Sandy. ' Congratulations to Roy Paterson who is having his sixtieth birthday to-day Nov. 25th. He was gaily entertained i-i on- Saturday;! evening at ' : ' : Hàydon Community Centre 'i"i when some thirty-fine, friends and relatives gathered to wish him well and have dinner. We wish many more happy birthdays for Roy. Would someone please inform me - Life begins again at forty years - what happens at sixty years of age - does it go uphill or is.it all downhill after .that? I'3 really like to know. Mr. Kenneth Kennedy and Miss Shirley Duelton of Newcastle Newcastle and Mr. Guy Kennedy and Miss Jane McClure, Oshawa were Saturday evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kennedy and family. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Kennedy, Brandee and Nick were Sunday callers with Mr. and Mrs. Everett. (Velda) Courvier, Newcastle and 1 then had supper at Bowmanville before returning home. Master Adam and Andrew Millson were over-night .Saturday .Saturday visitors with Mr v ,and Mrs. Les Golle and family, Bethany. Mr. and Mrs. Steve (Cindy) Millson attended the Men's Ball Banquet and dance Saturday evening at ■ the Orange Lodge Hall at Tyrone. Mrs. Cindy Millson ,.tyas hostess to a "Tops and Trim" clothes party at her home Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Meta Swain accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Jack Potts to the Enniskillen dinner on Tuesday. A good attendance, of Seniors including several from Haydon were at ,the dinner arranged by the Enniskillen U.C.W. ladies on Tuesday November 17th...,, Mrs. Ruby Trewin, president of the U.C.W. welcomed the guests in the church and called on Mrs. Merle Avery for the program. Merle greeted the Senior guests and with Mrs. tilah Chambers at the organ,,we sang two favourite Christmas Carols. Then she called on Mr.,,Bob Payne of Blackstock who sang a beautiful sacred seing, followed by "We Three Kings" which were both enjoyed.. - Miss Elva Orchard, Bowmanville, formerly.,'; of Enniskillen rendered a lovely piano instrumental. • ■ i i Mr, Payne favored us; with another vocal solo ■; - accompanied by Mrs, Chambers at the organ, "He Touched Me". ' By 1 this time dinner..was ready downstairs..- The table favors had been donated by the Mothers' Fellowship group. Rev. David McKinnell.was called on to say the Grace and the ladies of the group served us a delicious hot beef dinner with pie of our choice for dessert. Several offered thanks and the program of a Christmas reading by Ruth McGill< a reading by Aggie McKenzie which as she read -was participated in by the Seniors and Joyce Virtue had- a reading which was • also enjoyed. We sang .two more Christmas carols accompanied on the piano by Ulah and then we had a visit with several folks .that :one doesn't see every day. ;A11 in all a lovely three hours. , Congratulations to the Enniskillen ladies.
