Bowmanville 4 - MillbrookO The Toros travelled to Millbrook November 27th for their second game in as many nights and made it two in a row with a 4-0 win over the Millbrook Squad. The game, a bit on the chippy side, featured some strong goaltending by Millbrook's Steve Lakatos and Bowmanville's Darrin Bunker who went on to earn his third shut-out of the year. The Millbrook goalie was particularly sharp as Bowmanville Bowmanville controlled most of the play and had some excellent excellent chances to grab an early lead. Bob Marjerrison and Hugh German led an overpowering offensive display with two goals each. Grant Wright, Roger Shingler and Ray Crombie each scored once. In the second game, we were defeated 5-0 by a hustling Warkworth team that kept beating us to the puck. With our backs to the wall and needing a win to enter the finals, we put together the line of George Sainsbury, Grant Flintoff and David Green. This line dominated the game with George blasting in three goals, and David scoring two. Grant Flintoff had six assists in this game, unselfishly setting up Hugh German who 1 scored his third goal of the. tournament from the point to down Cobourg 6-0. We entered the finals on Sunday to gain sweet revenge on Warkworth, With only eight skaters we realized that we had to work like dogs to defeat this big, strong and aggresive group of country gentlemen.
