It Is not at all unusual for them to feel guilty- when someone dies, even when there Is absolutely no reason for them to feel this way. ' Children often engage In "magical thinking," believing that their wishes can suddenly become reality. This can have repercussions If an event In the world should In any way coincide with his wish to be free of his parents, for instance? II something later happens, he may assume that his brief, angry wish made II happen. The best thing to do is to explain to a child not only the fact of death, but the actual cause. Emphasize the fact that It was an illness or accident that made them die, and that no one deliberately caused It to happen or could have kept It from happening. In addition to making traveling dif ficult for the door, the crust may also cut their logs and make the deer very vulnerable to wolf prodation.
