Durham Regional Police report that a vehicle travelling travelling southbound on 10th line collided with a second vehicle which was eastbound on Highway #2. The second vehicle struck the girl walking along the Highway. The pedestrian was rushed to Memorial Hospital Hospital Bowmanville by ambulance ambulance and treated for major injuries. She was released a few days later. Police were called to the scene at 7:24 p.m. and charged the southbound vehicle with failing to yield. The incident is still under investigation. At approximately 3:30 p.m. January 9, Durham Regional Regional Police were called to the scene of an accident. At approximately 11:20 p.m. police were called to the scene of another snow- related accident. A vehicle travelling south on Zion Road struck a parked vehicle after the driver lost control of the car. Due to icy roads, no charges were laid.
