Following a recent snowfall, Mrs. Bea Boddy was pulled to church by friend and neighbour, Gerald Balson. The sled which was used had been made by Bea's father, Mr. Frank Cryderman, for the Balson family, many years ago. Mr. Frank Cryderman was a blacksmith in Bowmanville a long time ago. They arrived safely at the church door amidst a cheering crowd. We have no word on how Bea returned home, but Gerald spent the remainder of the day recuperating.
