I ) I J I The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanvillc, May 20, 1987 17 Enniskillen By Betty Wright On Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock on May 17th, our annual Sunday School Anniversary service was held with Jill Haskins as our Superintendent Superintendent and Ulah Chambers presiding at the organ and piano. We sang beautiful hymns throughout the service. The Prayer of Approach was given by Dannielle Alloway (written by the senior Sunday School class), followed by the life and work of the church through the upcoming announcements was given by Stephen Whitbread. Bev Whitbread introduced our guest soloist, Fern Steadman, who sang "I Wish You Jesus". The dedication of the offering was made by Amanda Haskins with the children receiving it and they sang the Offering Anthem. Bev Cochrane introduced the Sunday School pupils who sang "Fishers of Men", "Wisemen and Foolish Men" and "Skinnamarink." The scripture readings were read by Lisa Rekker and Elizabeth Alloway. Our guest speaker was none other than our own minister, Rev. David McKinnell who gave us a humorous puppet show entitled "Human Beans." Michelle Whitbread gave the. Thanksgiving Prayer followed by the Lord's Prayer. Fern Steadman rendered another beautiful piece of music entitled "Joy." Rev. Ruth McKinnell wrote the words to our closing hymn, "God Sure Loves Me." The Benediction was pronounced by Rev. David McKinnell. Many willing and helping hands and thoughts made our anniversary a success. The church announcements are as follows: I - Enniskillen held their Anniversary Supper on Wednesday, May 20th at 4:00 p.m. II - The Enfield ladies are holding their Annual Quilt Show on May 23rd from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. III - Tyrone Sunday School Annual Friendship Service will be held at Tyrone at 10:30 a.m. on May 24th. There will be no service at Enniskillen. We are invited to go to Tyrone. IV - The U.C.W. will be in charge of the Sunday regular service on May 31st with Mrs. Audrey Martin of Bowman- ville, being the guest speaker. V - On Sunday, May 31st at 7:30 p.m. Rev. David McKinnell will be preaching at Enfield United Church for their annual service. The Country All Star Orchestra will again be supplying the music for the evening, follow- ■ in'g 'the' service.'Refreshments; r will be served. VI - Enniskillen Congregational-Picnic Congregational-Picnic will be held on June 14th at 12:00 noon at the Enniskillen Conservation Aea. A week ago Sunday, May 10th, the Baptism of Dustin Alexander Privett and Kelsey Ann Privett was omitted from my news last week. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Sanderson, Raglan, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. Adam Sharp. Mr. and Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Gertie Wannamaker and friend, were callers. Helen Huzar and family, Oshawa, were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Brooks. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Virtue, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Hall, Seaforth, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Richardson, Lotus, were recent supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brown and family, Hampton. Mr. and Mrs. George Leadbeater, Lori and Mark, Oshawa, were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Art Leadbeater. Miss Marguerite Wright, Mrs. Russell Ormiston, Miss Clara Page, Mr. Gordon Stevens were evening dinner guests of Mrs. Wilfrid Bowman and Miss Myrtle Tamblyn, Mr, and Mrs. Murray Sanderson, Raglan, were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wright and Betty. Mr. and Mrs. A1 Martin, Bowmanville, Miss Marlene Martin, Victoria B.C., were Tuesday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Virtue. Mrs. Wilfred Bowman and Miss Myrtle Tamblyn were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Grass, Whitby, Mr. and Mrs. David Stainton and Deanna, Cobourg, were Saturday evening supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Len Stainton.
