Mrs. Winnie Brown, Mrs. Gertie Dorland, Bowmanville were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Avery and Jim. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wright and Betty were recent visitors of Mrs, Wilfrid Sanderson, R.R. 1, Oshawa. Mrs. Peter Allen, Jenny and Patrick, Colborne, were weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Patenaude. Other family members were also visitors, OBITUARY FREDERICK ERNEST HODGSON The death of Frederick Ernest Hodgson occurred on Friday, May 1, 1987, at Newcastle Ball Park, at the age of 54 and three days, following a heart attack on his way to play in a ball game. Son of the late Frederick Hodgson and Frances Wilson, he was born and educated in Toronto. On October 13, 1951, he was married to Merilyn Joyce Wilson. A painter by profession he had resided in Newcastle five years and previously in Bowmanville for 10 years. He was a member of Barron and Bing Legion - Ace Ball Team. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Merilyn, children Fred, Willie, Vince, Sue, JoAnne, Donna, six grandchildren, grandchildren, his mother Frances Wilson, a sister Carol Wilson ^ and a brother Don Hodgson. Funeral services were held at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville, on Monday, with the Reverend Donald E. Stiles officiating. Pallbearers were Messrs, Charlie Butler, Rick Filia- trault, Wayne Brown, Phil Carlton, Vern Sunday and Denise Mason. Floral tributes were received received in his memory from the Ace Ball Team, Fine Line Circuits and Select Renovations. Interment. Bond Head Cemetery.- NICKLOSTKATCH In his 88th year, Nicklos Tkatch, died on Thursday, May 7, 1987, at Strathaven Nursing Home, Bowmanville. He had been in poor health two years and passed away quietly in his sleep. Born in Austria, he was educated at Canora, Saskatchewan Saskatchewan and Teulon, Manitoba and was married November 16,1919 to Polly Katerynych. A resident at 155 Church Street, Bowmanville, he had previously resided in Saskatchewan Saskatchewan and in Newcastle, Ontario. An employee of Goodyear Canada, Inc. with more than 27 years service, he had retired 27 years ago. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church, Bowmanville. Surviving are a daughter Jannette (Mrs. Jack Niddery), two brothers Harry, of Florida, Dymetro, of Sutton, two sisters Polly Shermeto, B.C., and Mary Ostrowercha, Calgary, three sons-in-law Jack Niddery, Roy Wilkins and Bernie Reid, seven grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. The ^Reverend N. E. Schamerhorn officiated at the funeral services held on Saturday at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville. Bowmanville.
