Congratulations to Miss Lisa Liptay who celebrated her eleventh birthday on Saturday and Mr. and Mrs. Ken (Anita) Fogerty and family of Enfield joined the Liptays for the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Liptay and family visited with Mr. and Mrs. Alfons (Diane) Casteils and family at Centre- ton on Sunday for a barbeque supper. Mr. and Mrs. Brent (Bev) Cochrane and girls visited for the holiday weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Miller at Sunderland. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Spry and Ashley of Toronto spent the weekend at the J. Potts home. They accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Jack Potts and were Saturday supper guests with Bill and Kim Potts and John. Lloyd accompanied Sarah on their field day of bird watching at Whitby, Darlington Darlington Provincial Park, Purple Woods and out around Port Perry. They made a whole day of it. It was a busy weekend around the Kennedy home. While Mrs. N. Kennedy stayed put, they and neighbors Marilyn and Roger Moffat swapped work - and since the women were really beat, Mr. R. Moffat did the honors and cooked the supper on the barbeque. Remax Cornerstone Realty of Bowmanville have taken on the sponsorship of Jason Jackman (also of Bowmanville) Bowmanville) to play Central Ontario Selects Novice A.A.A. hockey for the 1987 summer season. Jason played hockey this winter past for the Novice Toros and compiled a record of one hundred and thirteen goals and forty-seven assists for a total of 160 points. To date the Central Ontario Select team have played two exhibition games against Wasaga Beach, winning the first 5 -1 with Jason scoring one goal, and winning the second game 6 - 5 with Jason getting one goal and one assist. The team will be participating participating in five tournaments, consisting consisting of their own tournament tournament which is May twenty- two, twenty-three and twenty- forth at the Wood ville Arena, Wasaga Beach, Ottawa, Richmond Hill and Peter- • borough. Judging from the talent on this team, which comes from a wide spread of communities, the boys should provide an exciting brand of hockey as well as learning to play at a high calibre level.
