When construction com- -panies tear up a road, the old asphalt is pulverized and hauled away according to Councillor Hamre. She wants town staff to look at other municipalities and see how they deal with recycled asphalt. Newcastle Mayor John Winters questioned the need for a resolution on the issue. "Shouldn't the public works department already be looking at ways to save money?" he asked. "They are," replied Councillor Councillor Hamre.
