What will happen to the lovely country fair if this is carried through? The fair in our area that so many people look forward to every year. They also look forward to their yearly visit with their long time friends. What the Fair needs to attract more people is not more noise but less noise. It used to be so relaxing to listen to the good old Orono Band that played the good old songs people never tired of. The fair just isn't the same since they discontinued, the new songs just don't take the place of the old songs. Now they have the music taped into the arena and turned up so loud you can't hear to talk civilly and your head feels as though it is going to explode. There are people who have - inner ear trouble, and people who wear hearing aides, and people who just can't stand noise. Besides, some of us realize just how precious ear drums are. I think it is time the noise lovers realized this too, or some day they could end up with damaged ear drums, causing deafness. Furthermore, why should the ones who like the music loud rule over the ones who don't. They paid to get into the fair the same as the others and should have some say or rights. Surely the music could be turned down in moderation to suit everyone. To add rock groups makes for more noise - there is Mosport, a few miles away, that's the place for it, for those who want to promote this kind of entertainment. This sdunds like a sales pitch for those who are pushing it, and as a drawing card to entice the young people (and those not so young who are also caught up in it) they eat with it, they drive with it, they walk with it, and they sleep with it, and they take off on weekends to Rock Festivals that are a mixture of hippies, dope, booze, sex, just everything that is evil. All these things lead to hallucination hallucination - wandering minds until they don't know what they are doing. It finally can lead to insecurity. Anything that has anyone so in bondage has to be satanic, they promise liberty from the stress and strains of everyday living, yet they themselves are servants of corruption, they are so in bondage, they are subjective to any influence,, they shall utterly perish in their own corruption. Young people, I am not trying to put you down, I love young people. I also realize that you are growing up in a terrible mixed up world and I am concerned for you - because I am a mother and I shudder to think what the future holds. I am also concerned as to what kind of an effect this kind of entertainment can have on the Fair. It certainly won't improve it. I just hope that this letter will be taken in the same attitude that it was written, with love and concern, and that it will help many to stop and think where the way of corruption leads - loss of integrity - depravity - departure departure from correct style. Not much of a future to look forward to. May you let the Lord help you to choose between corruption or integrity integrity is my prayer. He will break the bondage.
